Itinerary: Greenbrier River Trail
After a good night’s sleep in Marlinton, enjoy breakfast at your B & B, or go downtown where there are several options for dining.
Make arrangements with Appalachian Sport to paddle the Greenbrier River in either a kayak or a canoe. Travel the Greenbrier River south to Seebert where Appalachian Sport will pick you up and bring you back to Marlinton.
Enjoy a light lunch at either the Dirtbean Café or the Snak Shak.

Ride your bikes north bound on the Greenbrier River Trail until you come to Sharp’s Tunnel. Make a leisurely return as you stop along the way to rest at accommodating shelters or picnic areas. Notice the railroad turntable at the restored water tower just north of Marlinton.
Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in town. Join the locals at the famous Pocahontas County Opera House in Marlinton. This acoustic gem is one musicians look forward to coming back to. Go early so you can get a good seat and tour this grand hall, built over a hundred years ago.
