After enjoying a sound night’s sleep in Marlinton, enjoy breakfast at either your B & B or one of several restaurants in Marlinton.  Travel to Cass Scenic Railroad State Park and explore the old logging town before boarding the 10:00 a.m. train, a steam locomotive for a trip to Whittaker Station.  (Approximate time is 2 hours).

Return from Whittaker and enjoy lunch at the Last Run Restaurant in Cass.

Leave Cass and head towards the National Radio Astronomy Observatory where your visit includes a movie and demonstration in the auditorium plus a bus ride to see each of the telescopes up close; learn how radio waves affect our lives today.  Return from the tour, shop at the gift shop, and enjoy an ice cream cone at the Starlight Café.

Head west on Rt 66 to the top of the famous Snowshoe Mountain.  Stop at the Village to shop, or enjoy a cup of coffee at Starbucks.  During summer, there are many events at Snowshoe Mountain that you might want to take in.

Stop along Rt 219 to browse in Gunter’s General Store before returning to Marlinton.

Have supper at the Greenbrier Grille & Lodge overlooking the Greenbrier River.
