Traditional Music of Pocahontas County

The hills are alive with music! Join 2nd generation clawhammer banjo player, and Pocahontas County native, Caleb JM Diller, for an in-depth and hands-on look at Traditional Music of the region. Get a rare glimpse of our people and their music through historic photos, recordings, stories and an instructional session with Caleb and Dwight Diller, both world renowned performers and instructors.  Part of the Calvin W. Price Appalachian Enrichment Series.

Ribs & Rails at Cass Railroad

Bluegrass music and self-serve ribs buffet waitsCass Scenic Railroad locomotive with autumn color on the mountains for riders to Whittaker Station for this special evening train. Train departs at 5:15 p.m. Optional locomotive shop tour or Cass Showcase presentation; optional self-guided tour of Camp Whittaker, a recreated logging camp is part of this special evening package. Little Levels Heritage Fair

Come see one of the areas most popular festivals.  The locals come out in style as they share with visitors what it was like in the Little Levels years ago.  See an old time parade, rodeo, soccer game, and talented crafters.  There’s music all day, and the food is so good….BBQ with all the trimmings one night and then BBQ chicken the second night.
